What our previous entrants have to say...

Karen Trophy

Kylie has done such a great job bringing the ALIBI Awards to light. It is such a massive undertaking with lots of work going off in the background to be able to bring so many amazing business ladies together.

I have been a member of the Australian Ladies in Business Initiative for just over a year now, and have met some amazing business women and also made some new friends :).

I was nominated in the 2023 ALIBI Awards, which gave me the push to tell them all about my small business and what it means to me, and to educate others on the products I make.

Imagine my surprise when I was named a Finalist in these awards, I got to attend the Awards which were held on beautiful Sydney Harbour and I got to attend with all the Amazing Business Ladies I had met through this group.. Then Imagine my complete shock when I took home the converted Purple Crystal Trophy for Outstanding Product Based Business 2023!!

I look forward to the 2024 Awards and being able to celebrate the past year with some amazing Australian Ladies

Applying for the Australian Ladies In Business Initiative Award gives you an opportunity to look closely at your business while answering the questions which in itself is a good practice. You get to share what your business is doing and be measured against other businesses in similar categories. Just applying for an award creates the motivation to improve on what you are already doing.

Applying for the ALIBI awards was very easy and uncomplicated.

I usually start applying for an award and then stop half way through an application but not in this instance the whole experience from the day I was nominate, receiving a phone call advising me I was a finalist to the amazing awards night was a seamless and enjoyable experience.

If you are thinking about putting yourself forward, do it is a great experience.

Kylie should be congratulated on founding such a brilliant networking opportunity for ladies in business! I was fortunate enough to attend the 2023 awards ceremony at a beautiful venue on the harbour and humbled to be the winner of the enduring brilliance category. I can’t wait to se what 2024 will bring!

Becoming a member of Australian Ladies Business Initiative is one of the best things of have ever done for my business and for myself as a business owner. It’s such an amazing supportive business network that has helped me through the tough times and has given me suggestions on how to improve my business where it’s needed. I recommend this page to everyone I know that owns a business as it’s a network that I can be myself without judgement.

Since being a member of this extraordinary group I have been awarded with two shinny purple crystal crown awards – 2022 ALIBI Business Lady of the Year & 2023 Aspiring Leader of the Year and finalist in other categories. It has given me the opportunity to meet other ladies in business and make new business acquaintances and be their cheer girl in the background.

I love supporting other ladies in business and watching their businesses grow and accomplishments.

If you have been thinking of joining, stop procrastinating cause you will thank yourself in the long run for joining and meeting a group of ladies who are very passionate and supportive of one another.

I’ve entered the Australian Ladies in Business Initative (ALIBI) Awards in both 2022 and 2023. While I couldn’t attend the awards ceremony in 2022, I attended in 2023.

It was a terrific night with delicious food, great company at an awesome location. It was a very positive environment where everyone was uplifting – a great way to network and to celebrate not only my achievements, but the achievements of other business ladies.

The awards process is great also. Instead of it being a popularity contest, the process allows business-owning ladies to review both the wins and challenges they’ve had.

I’m looking forward to the participating in the 2024 ALIBI awards.

I have been in business for 18 years but never have I been in a room where so many strangers came together to uplift and support one another. Last years award night brought around 140 people under one roof, and what unfolded was nothing short of electric. These were women, along with their sons and partners, who genuinely wanted to see each other succeed.

We laughed together (with a little help from the extraordinary MC, we shed tears, and most importantly, we inspired one another.

While I didn’t take home the coveted purple trophy, I left feeling like a winner. I was able to network with amazing women and speak with the judges and get real tangible feedback. I was alerted to challenges I was facing that I wasn’t aware of and was given guidance on how to resolve them.

If you’re a woman in business, whether it’s online, Etsy, or brick and mortar, I wholeheartedly recommend connecting with this wonderful group.

Who is ALIBI?

Australian Ladies in Business Initiative or ALIBI as it’s fondly known believes that every member of our community, every Australian lady in business, is the face of ALIBI. But if you’re asking about the founder, that would be me, Kylie King. I’m an award-winning hypnotherapist, past life regressionist, #1 bestselling author, and small business advocate. I have entered, won and judged various awards, including international ones. With all this experience, I have taken the best bits or other Award programs and combined them to make the ALIBI Awards program the best around.

I wish to acknowledge the Dharug and Gundungurra People as the custodians of the place where the Australian Ladies in Business Initiative is based. The sacredness of this place in the Blue Mountains is deeply enjoyed and I acknowledge that part of its special nature is because of the custodial role you undertake here. Thank you. I’d also like to acknowledge all other Aboriginal peoples across this land and your deep and unwavering spiritual connection to the land, sea, and community. My admiration for your cultural connections and community inspires me to hold a space for a connected, authentic, and fun community of business ladies. I pay respect to the Elders of the lands across Australia and am committed to continue listening and learning how the Australian Ladies in Business Initiative can be inclusive of First Nations people.
