ALIBI Awards

Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before entering, sponsoring, attending or participating in the ALIBI Awards.

Clear expectations for a fair awards experience.

These terms outline how the ALIBI Awards operate, including nominations, submissions, finalists, judging, publicity, sponsorship, affiliate referrals and Awards Night participation.

Terms and Conditions

The following are the Terms and Conditions of entry to the ALIBI Awards hosted by Australian Ladies in Business Initiative Pty Ltd. By submitting an entry, nomination, written submission, video submission, sponsorship application, ticket purchase or other material connected with the ALIBI Awards, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

Agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, including permission for your quotes, images, videos, audio, written submissions, business information and any other material associated with the ALIBI Awards or your submission to be used by ALIBI and its approved media partners, is a condition of entry.

Eligibility

Entries may be received from individuals, couples or businesses within Australia that hold a valid ABN.

Entrants must be members of the Australian Ladies in Business Facebook community to be eligible to enter the ALIBI Awards.

Sponsors of the ALIBI Awards may enter the Awards; however, they are not permitted to enter the category they sponsor.

Australian Ladies in Business Initiative staff and immediate family members are ineligible to enter the Awards.

ALIBI reserves the right to decline or remove an entry if eligibility requirements are not met.

Nomination Process and Entry Fees

To enter the ALIBI Awards, an administration fee is payable for each category nomination. Entry fees must be paid before entries can be submitted or processed.

The ALIBI Awards currently offer up to 28 categories; however, category numbers, titles, descriptions, criteria and availability may change from year to year at the discretion of ALIBI.

Payment of a nomination or entry fee grants access to the Awards process only and does not guarantee selection as a finalist or winner.

Standard category entries are priced at $99 (incl. GST). From time to time, specialty or invitation-only categories may be offered separately at a different price point. Any pricing differences will be clearly communicated prior to checkout.

You may withdraw one or more entries and receive a refund of fees paid for those entries only up until the published refund cut-off date (3/8/26) or before written submission forms have been submitted, whichever occurs first. After this time, entries may still be withdrawn, but no refunds will be issued.

Nomination Packs and Promotional Gifts

ALIBI Awards may provide nominees, finalists or winners with complimentary gifts, nomination packs, promotional materials or appreciation items as part of the Awards experience.

These items are provided as a goodwill gesture and are not guaranteed inclusions of the nomination fee or Awards entry process.

While ALIBI takes reasonable care when arranging packaging and postage, ALIBI is not responsible for delays, loss, theft or damage caused by postal services, couriers or circumstances outside of its control.

Replacement items may be provided at ALIBI’s discretion and subject to availability.

Written Submissions

Entries are to be submitted online through the official ALIBI Awards process.

Written submission forms must be received by the published submission deadline. Late submissions may not be accepted unless otherwise determined by ALIBI.

Written submission questions are limited to 200 words per question unless otherwise stated. Word counts are designed to keep the process fair and manageable for all entrants and judges.

Photos submitted as part of a written submission may be used for ALIBI Awards marketing, finalist announcements, media materials, social media, website content, event materials and other promotional purposes.

It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure any photo submitted is appropriate, high quality, current, and approved for use. Once finalists have been announced, photo changes may not be made.

By submitting photos, videos, written content or supporting materials, entrants confirm they have the right to provide those materials and allow ALIBI to use them for Awards-related promotional, editorial and marketing purposes.

Finalists

Entry into the ALIBI Awards does not guarantee selection as a finalist.

A maximum of 12 finalists may be selected per category unless otherwise determined by ALIBI. Finalist selections are based on eligibility requirements, submission quality, judging criteria and shortlist review processes.

The finalists list may be published on the ALIBI Awards website, social media platforms, email communications and associated promotional channels.

Finalists must display the ALIBI Awards Finalist graphic on their website or blog with a link back to the official ALIBI website by the finalist submission deadline.

Finalists must also share their personalised finalist graphics provided by ALIBI across their social media platforms. This may be considered as part of the overall finalist participation process.

Finalists are encouraged to seek media exposure for their business and may be contacted by ALIBI media partners for editorial, promotional or publicity opportunities.

Finalist Video Submissions

Finalist video submissions must be received by the published finalist video submission deadline.

Video submissions are to be five minutes or under unless otherwise stated. The time limit is designed to ensure fairness and consistency across the judging process. Videos exceeding the permitted time allowance may be marked down or excluded at ALIBI’s discretion.

Judging

Each eligible award submission may be reviewed by a shortlist committee and/or independent judging panel as determined by ALIBI.

All entries and submission information are treated with care and confidentiality within the judging and administration process.

The ALIBI Awards are conducted with integrity and are designed to reduce bias, including judges being unable to enter the Awards.

Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence or disputes regarding judging outcomes will be entered into.

In the event of a dispute regarding the category in which an entry will be judged, the decision of ALIBI staff will prevail. Judges may recommend that an entry be switched to a different category and, at their discretion, ALIBI Awards staff may change an entry’s category.

Judging Feedback

Judging feedback is unavailable until after the conclusion of the ALIBI Awards Night.

Feedback requests from judges may be made after the Awards Night and up until 30 November of the applicable awards year.

After this date, feedback requests may incur an administration fee of $30 plus GST per category.

ALIBI does not guarantee the availability, completeness or turnaround time of feedback requests, particularly where judges are unavailable or where requests are submitted outside the stated feedback period.

Awards and Winners

Winners in each category will be announced at the ALIBI Awards presentation event or through another official ALIBI Awards announcement channel if required.

All finalists present at the Awards Night may be acknowledged during the event.

Once awards have been received, they become the responsibility of the recipient. Any breakages, damage or repairs after receipt will be at the cost of the award recipient unless otherwise determined by ALIBI.

Any spelling errors or engraving mistakes caused by ALIBI will be corrected or replaced by the organisers where reasonably possible.

Winners may be required to display the ALIBI Awards Winner graphic or button on their website or online platform for 12 months with a link back to the official ALIBI website.

Awards Night

The ALIBI Awards presentation event will be held at a venue and date communicated by ALIBI Awards through official channels including the website, email communications and social media platforms.

Ticket purchases for the Awards Night are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law. Tickets may be transferable subject to approval by ALIBI.

ALIBI reserves the right to change the venue, event format, timing, schedule or delivery method where reasonably required due to operational requirements, safety concerns, unforeseen circumstances or events outside of its control.

If the organisers are unable to stage an in-person Awards presentation event, a virtual or alternative event format may be held in its place.

Photography, Video, Copyright and Marketing Use

All photographs, videos, audio, written content, quotes, social media content and other materials provided to or captured by ALIBI in connection with the Awards may be used for future promotion of the ALIBI Awards, Australian Ladies in Business Initiative and related activities.

By entering, attending or participating in the ALIBI Awards, participants grant ALIBI a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use their submitted or captured content for promotional, editorial, marketing, media and archival purposes.

Participants are responsible for ensuring they have permission to submit or provide any third-party images, videos, logos, testimonials or other materials included in their submission.

Social Media and Publicity

Participants are encouraged to engage with and share content related to the ALIBI Awards on social media platforms.

When sharing content, participants should use official hashtags, tags and handles designated by the ALIBI Awards where appropriate.

The organisers may feature, repost or share participant content on official ALIBI Awards social media channels, websites, email communications and other promotional platforms.

Participants must comply with the terms and policies of the respective social media platforms when sharing content related to the ALIBI Awards.

Sponsors and Sponsorships

Sponsors of the ALIBI Awards may participate in the Awards program; however, sponsors are not permitted to enter nominations in the category they sponsor. Sponsors may enter other categories provided they meet all eligibility requirements.

Sponsorship benefits, such as logo placement, promotional mentions, stage signage, social media acknowledgements, inclusion in event materials or website placement, are provided only in accordance with the specific sponsorship package purchased and confirmed in writing between ALIBI and the sponsor.

Sponsors grant ALIBI a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use the sponsor’s business name, trademark, logo and promotional materials for the purpose of promoting the Awards and the sponsorship in connection with the event.

Sponsors agree to comply with all reasonable promotional requirements communicated by ALIBI, including submission of logos and materials by specified deadlines.

ALIBI reserves the right to decline, suspend or terminate any sponsorship if, at its sole discretion, a sponsor is engaged in conduct that may harm the reputation or integrity of the ALIBI Awards, fails to meet payment or material submission obligations, or otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions or any sponsorship agreement. In such cases, no refunds, rebates or credits will be provided.

If a sponsorship package includes exclusivity rights, such rights will be expressly documented in the confirmed sponsorship materials or agreement. Without express written confirmation, no exclusivity is assumed.

Affiliate and Referral Partner Program

ALIBI Awards may offer an affiliate or referral partner program where approved individuals, businesses, organisations, communities or partners may receive a commission for eligible paid nominations made through their unique referral link.

Affiliate commissions are only payable on eligible transactions that are successfully tracked through the approved affiliate link or code. ALIBI is not responsible for commissions that are not tracked due to incorrect link use, browser settings, technology issues, expired cookies or other factors outside our control.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, affiliate commissions are calculated on the nomination fee excluding GST and any refunds, chargebacks, discounts or payment processing fees.

Affiliate payments will only be made after the relevant refund period has passed and the nomination has not been cancelled, refunded or reversed.

ALIBI reserves the right to approve, decline, suspend or remove any affiliate or referral partner at its discretion, particularly where conduct may harm the reputation or integrity of the ALIBI Awards.

Affiliates must not make misleading claims, guarantee award outcomes, imply special influence over judging, or represent themselves as employees or official decision-makers of ALIBI Awards.

Participation in the affiliate program does not create any employment, partnership, agency or joint venture relationship between the affiliate and ALIBI.

Data Privacy and Usage

Participant information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By entering the Awards, participants acknowledge that relevant information may be used and disclosed for the purpose of administering, judging, promoting and publicising the ALIBI Awards, including to judges, shortlist committee members, contractors, service providers, event partners and approved media partners.

Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination

The ALIBI Awards are open to eligible individuals, couples or businesses without discrimination based on race, religion, disability, age, background or any other protected characteristic.

ALIBI is committed to creating an inclusive and respectful Awards experience.

Liability and Indemnification

The organisers of the ALIBI Awards and its affiliated parties shall not be held liable for any damages, losses or claims arising from participation in the Awards, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, financial loss, postal issues, technical issues or missed opportunities.

Participants agree to indemnify and hold the organisers, their officers, employees, contractors and agents harmless from any liabilities, claims or demands arising out of or in connection with their participation in the ALIBI Awards.

Termination, Modification or Cancellation

The organisers reserve the right to terminate, modify, postpone or cancel the ALIBI Awards in exceptional circumstances, including unforeseen events, natural disasters, safety concerns, operational issues or circumstances beyond their control.

In the event of termination, modification, postponement or cancellation, the organisers will communicate the decision through the official ALIBI Awards website and other appropriate channels. Participants will be informed of any revised timelines, procedures or alternative arrangements where applicable.
