The following are the terms and conditions of entry to the 2023 ALIBI Awards hosted by Australian Ladies in Business Initiative. By submitting entries to the competition, you assent that you have read and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

Agreeing to the terms and conditions and giving permission for your quotes, images, video, audio, and any other material associated with the ALIBI Awards and/or your submission to be used by ALIBI is a condition of entry. Completing your submission indicates your agreement to abide by these terms.

Eligibility

  1. Entries can be received from any individual, couple, or business within Australia that has an ABN.
  2. Sponsors of the ALIBI Awards are allowed to enter; however, they are not permitted to enter their sponsored category.
  3. Australian Ladies in Business Initiative staff and family members are ineligible to enter the awards.
  4. Entrants must be members of the “Australian Ladies in Business” Facebook community to be eligible to enter the ALIBI Awards.

Nomination Process

To enter the ALIBI Awards, there is an admin fee of $69 for each category nomination.

Entry Fees

  1. Entry fees must be paid before entries can be submitted.
  2. You may withdraw one or more entries from the competition and receive a refund of fees paid for those entries until the 13th August 2023 or before submission forms have been entered. After that date, entries may still be withdrawn, but no refunds will be issued.

Submissions

  1. Entries to be entered online.
  2. Nominee Award Submission forms must be received by 11:59 pm, 13th August 2023.
  3. The word count noted for each question is a guide only. If an entry is completed with less than the word count, this is perfectly fine. The word count is designed to ensure that applicants do not exceed the given word count by more than 10%.
  4. Judges’ decisions are final, and no amendments will be made.
  5. Finalists’ Video Submissions must be received by 11:59 pm, 10th September 2023.
  6. Video submissions are to be 5 minutes or under. The time limit is designed to ensure the finalists do not exceed the given time limit by more than 20%.

Judging

  1. Each award video/questionnaire is adjudicated by an independent judging panel.
  2. All entries and information are treated with the highest security and confidentiality.
  3. The ALIBI Awards are conducted with the utmost integrity to ensure that there is no bias or innuendo.
  4. This includes judges being unable to enter our awards.
  5. After the Awards Night you can request feedback on your submission from the Judges via email. It will be sent to you in due course. If you request feedback after 10th November 2023, an admin fee will apply.  

Copyright

All photos, video of the awards entrants, ceremony, cocktail event may be used for promotion of ALIBI Awards in the future.

Finalists

  1. The finalists list will also be published on the website www.australianladiesinbusinessinitiative.com.
  2. Finalists must display the ALIBI Award Finalist graphic on their website or blog with a link back to www.australianladiesinbusinessinitiative.com.
  3. Finalists are encouraged to gain media exposure for their business, and all finalists will receive a press release template to send to your local media as part of your finalists pack.

Awards/Winners

  1. Winners in each category will only be announced at the ALIBI Awards event.
  2. All finalists present will be acknowledged at the ALIBI Awards night.
  3. ALIBI is committed to protecting participant data and will handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
  4. Participants understand and agree that their personal data collected during the awards may be stored, used, and processed for the purpose of the ALIBI Awards.
  5. ALIBI will not disclose participants’ personal information to third parties without their consent unless required by law. Once awards have been received, they become the responsibility of the recipient. Any breakages or repairs will be at the cost of the awards recipient.
  6. Any misspellings or errors will be replaced by the organizers.
  7. Winners in all categories must display the ALIBI Awards Winner button on their homepage for 12 months with a link back to www.australianladiesinbusinessinitiative.com

Awards Night

The Awards Night will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Friday, 27th October 2023. Due to the funds going directly to the venue, there are no refunds on Awards Night tickets; however, they can be transferred to another attendee.

Final Decision

In the event of a dispute regarding the category in which an entry(s) will be judged, the decision of the ALIBI staff will prevail. Judges may recommend that an entry be switched to a different category, and at their discretion, ALIBI Awards staff may change an entry’s category.

In the case where the organisers are unable to stage an awards banquet this year, a virtual event will be held in its place.

Liability and Indemnification

  1. The organisers of the ALIBI Awards and its affiliated parties shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from participation in the awards, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or financial loss.
  2. Participants agree to indemnify and hold the organisers, their officers, employees, and agents harmless from any liabilities, claims, or demands arising out of or in connection with their participation in the ALIBI Awards.

Termination or Modification

  1. The organisers reserve the right to terminate, modify, or cancel the ALIBI Awards in exceptional circumstances, such as unforeseen events, natural disasters, or circumstances beyond their control.
  2. In the event of termination, modification, or cancellation, the organizers will communicate the decision through the official ALIBI Awards website and other appropriate channels. Participants will be informed of any revised timelines, procedures, or alternative arrangements, if applicable.

Social Media and Publicity

  1. Participants are encouraged to engage and share content related to the ALIBI Awards on social media platforms.
  2. When sharing content, participants should use official hashtags and handles designated by the ALIBI Awards.
  3. The organisers may feature, repost, or share participant content on official ALIBI Awards social media channels and other promotional platforms.
  4. Participants should comply with the terms and policies of the respective social media platforms when sharing content related to the ALIBI Awards.

Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination

  1. The ALIBI Awards are open to all individuals, couples, or businesses without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

Data Privacy and Usage

    1. ALIBI is committed to protecting participant data and will handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
    2. Participants understand and agree that their personal data collected during the awards may be stored, used, and processed for the purpose of the ALIBI Awards.
    3. ALIBI will not disclose participants’ personal information to third parties without their consent unless required by law.
